The Power of the Preached Word

This year, Dr. Jonathan Griffiths will speak about the power of the preached word.

The lectures take place from September 26th to the 27th, with our Convocation service wrapping up the weekend. There will be an Alumni Lunch for ALL attendees on September 26th.

The Bauman Lectures take place every year during the fall term. They are named after Clifford Bauman, our longest serving trustee member, and long-time member of Jarvis Street Baptist Church, who contributes immensely to the ministry of the seminary and the lives of the students.

Dr. Jonathan Griffiths serves as President of Heritage College and Seminary and as Executive Director of the Timothy Trust. He studied theology at Oxford and Cambridge universities and is the author of more than fifteen books—most recently, Gathered for Good: God’s Good Design for the Local Church (B&H, 2025). His syndicated Bible teaching program, Encounter the Truth, is heard on radio networks across Canada and the United States and globally through podcast. Jonathan is deeply committed to expository preaching and loves to train and mentor others in word ministry. He and his wife, Gemma, have three children.
